Held Gaze
Held Gaze is a modern abstract portrait that meets the viewer with warmth and strength. Layered acrylic, paint pen and crayon combine brights and neutrals in a dynamic composition, celebrating the bond between observer and observed.
This piece marked a turning point in my artistic style — the moment my work shifted toward something looser, more expressive and more intuitively layered. It's one of the pieces closest to my own creative journey, and it later became the inspiration behind the Studio Alice logo.

Secret Shenanigans
Two vivid, fox figures caught in a moment of quiet conspiracy. Painted in bold layers of crimson, coral and blue, the piece plays with contrast — mischief and stillness, what's shown and what's held back.
The characters come through intuitive, loose mark-making — alert, affectionate, clearly in on something the rest of us aren't. It's part of an ongoing exploration of identity and connection, and the things that live just beneath the surface. There's humour in it, but tenderness too.
The title asks the question: what are they planning? What do they know that we don't?

Between Us
Two fox-like figures, caught in a quiet moment of understanding. Painted in layers of pink, crimson and violet, this piece sits somewhere between stillness and energy — the calm of connection against a pulse of colour.

A story about trusting your instincts
She didn't know their names yet. Didn't know who'd make her laugh, who she'd trust with the real stuff, or who she'd still be talking to in a year.
She knew the flowers though. She'd picked those herself.
There's a kind of trust in walking into a room of strangers with your hands full of something soft. No history, no proof yet that any of it would matter. Just flowers and a heart worn where anyone could see it.
Some people wait to be sure before they open up. She didn't wait. She just kept showing up, to the next thing and the next, hands full, heart out, betting the right people would notice.
Some call that naive. She calls it hope, dressed up and walking out the door.

A story about having an open heart
They wear their hearts on the outside, the way you only can when nothing has ever taught you to hide it.
There is a gaze that watches over them, steady and unhurried. The kind you stop noticing after a while, because it's just always there.
Trust is something they just know. Nobody had to teach it to them. It was simply true from the start, the way some things are.
So they stay open. Hearts out, eyes soft, certain. In the quiet, unremarkable way you're certain that they will always be okay. Not because nothing bad could happen. Just because whatever does, they'll face it together.

A story about old friends
Their hearts beat together now.
They look at each other easily, but there is a little wariness, even after all this time. So they hold still and watch each other, but they never let go.
She is distracted, a sound only she can hear, pulling at her attention. But she doesn't turn away. She stays. They both do. Always.
It hasn't always been easy. There were seasons where holding on took more than either of them had to give. But they kept choosing it anyway, the way you choose the things that matter most. Quietly, and over and over.
They've known each other longer than either can remember. Whatever happens next, that part is the rest of their story.
